Collection compiled by Robert McF. Doble and presumably photographed by him. One image by F.A. Thompson.
Includes photographs of engineering projects to which Robert McF. Doble contributed: the Guanajuato Canal Project in Mexico, the New New Century Dam and Gore Canyon project in Colorado, the San Miguel Canal Project (also in Colorado), and various other hydro-electrical power plants. Views include the building of power plants and the specific equipment and machinery used in them as well as Mexican laborers digging trenches, laying pipe, raising transmission lines, and transporting materials to sites. The collection also includes prints from Doble's trips around Mexico, including city scenes most prominently of Mazatlan and Guadalajara. Many of the city scenes depict busy city streets and open markets, monuments, bullfights, and broad town views.
